Spyderco Squarehead LightweightThe Spyderco Squarehead Lightweight isn’t your usual knife. When it’s closed, the 2.23″ x  1.2″ knife resembles a tiny belt buckle more than anything. In fact, you’d be hard pressed to convince anyone that it was a knife until you opened it and used it.

The original Spyderco Squarehead was designed by Darrel Caston. It was a slightly smaller, all metal knife that defined the term minimalist design. According to Spyderco, the Spyderco Squarehead Lightweight “faithfully maintains the innovative design concept and compact functionality of the original Squarehead, but in a more economical format.”

The Squarehead Lightweight features a 1.3″ sheepsfoot blade that folds out of a bi-directionally textured FRN handle that houses both the blade and a stainless steel liner and liner lock. The CTS BD1 stainless steel blade features a single-sided, flat chisel grind with a nicely sized Spyderco Round Hole. The grind allows the blade’s edge to sit snugly and safely inside the handle when the Squarehead Lightweight is closed.

The single fiberglass reinforced nylon (FRN) handle scale is injection molded and makes the knife both lightweight and easy to grip. It also features a wide lanyard area that is perfect for attachment to a keychain, neck lanyard, or chain.
