The Spyderco Opus is discontinued and on sale. You can now pick up an outstanding knife for $130. That’s about a 40% discount off the $218 minimum advertised price (MAP). Having watched the secondary market for at least a minute or two, now would be an outstanding time to add this knife to your collection. You know, before the secondary market inflation happens.
Designed by Ulrich Hennicke, the Opus features a 3.75” CPM-S30V stainless steel drop point blade with a full-flat grind. The edge geometry on this knife is outstanding, and it makes an excellent slicer. It opens with Spyderco’s Trademark Round Hole and rides on phosphorous bronze washers.
The G-10 handle scales on this linerlock are mounted on skeletonized stainless-steel liners, which keeps the weight down to 4.2 ounces. They have a great feel in hand and are comfortable even for those with larger mitts. It’s just over 5” closed and has a four-position pocket clip and lanyard hole for attachments.
